The work on the bag continues. The one I've been working on has been sewn and taken apart so many times that it's become just a small heap of fabric on the floor. It's been cut and shaped into different shapes and sizes that it's just lost its way. It might end up being a makeup pouch. I just love the fabrics but I don't want it looking home made. I'm really going for a professional-looking piece.
I decided that perhaps I needed to start over again with something different. So, I began anew with a tote.
It's smaller, only about 15" across and I think it will make a nice bag. The fabric is canvas and the lining will be red cotton. I had all of this in my stash from waaaayyyy back. So long, in fact, that I don't remember where (or when) I got it. I've also made a top piece for a zipper closure (I have in many my stash). It doesn't show well in this picture but the straps really do match. It's 6 am as I write this and the light isn't that good this morning. You know how that goes.
This little tote has turned out to be so simple that it made me realize that I was over thinking the other bag. Sometimes starting over with something simple is the best way to clear the mind and get instant gratification.
So, what do you think?
