Since I'm not much of a resolution person, I figured that an outline of goals would work a little better. For some reason, the word "goal" seems to be more long-lasting whereas "resolution" tends to feel temporary. That's just my take. And it seems everyone in the blogosphere is listing a year in review and since I haven't really been blogging for long, I don't have much to review.
Anyhoo, I do have some sewing goals for 2013 that I would like to share. 1. Learn to use my new Bernina. 2. Learn how to sew with knits. 3. learn to do some tailoring. 4. Make some shirts for my husband. 5. Make some jeans for my husband. 6. Learn some couture skills. 7. Sew something with buttons. 8. Learn to sew zippers better. 9. Take better pictures.
Hmmm. Nine goals for 2013. It's an odd number and I like it.
Love your set of goals.. I too , want to sew with knits, I have been sewing for years..but for some reason,Have always avoided them,ha.
ReplyDeleteHappy new Years
Thank you so much! I'm finding that the type of knit I'm using makes all the difference. I'm using a heavier, not so flimsy knit and I'm having a great deal of success.
DeleteGreat goals! I would recommend following Peter's at Male Pattern Boldness' Jeans Sew Along posts for your hubby's jeans. I applaud you - jeans are one thing I am too terrified to sew.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! I'm such a huge fan of your blog!! I love Peter and visit his blog everyday. I did the jeans sew along for myself but not for my hubby. I found them remarkably easy to sew. I just used cheap fabric that didn't last. Oh, well. We live and learn, right?
