Finished the top with a new addition to the family...

This is Kwik Sew 3766 and I'm very please with the way it turned out.  The neckline looks a little wonky in this picture but I think it's just the way I'm standing that's making it do that.  This was a really fun top to make, especially because I love t-shirts.  The fabric is a poly-rayon and it looks very good with slacks so I can wear this to work. It looks great with jeans, too. I have some rust colored poly-rayon that I plan on using to making another one, probably even today.

And all this was made possible by the new addition to the family...

A Bernina B350.  I got it for a song in an after Christmas sale.  It's very different from my Janome but it is so smooth and quiet, I just can't help but love it.  But, I will admit, I was inspired by Lladybird.  She bought one as well and it was when I saw hers that I realized I could probably get one on sale! Duh!!  Well, I was so unhappy with my Janome 3160 jamming every five minutes that I had to get a new machine anyways.  Drat the luck! (I had done my research on fixing the Janome but apparently this particular model had a bobbin issue that kept cropping up with many Janome users and the final solution was to get a new machine). So, I was able to trade in my Janome which brought the price down on the Bernina even further.   Don't ya just love discounts on top of discounts?

Anyway, I'm going to spend some time with her today as a get to know you.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!  By the way, just wanted to share another picture.  My husband was taking a picture of the top - at least that was the assignment - and he ended up getting a great shot of our view.

  2. Bernina!! *cue singing sewing angels* What a lovely new addition. I like your new shirt and look forward to seeing the rust version. Renfrew is my favourite knit shirt pattern - I made two cowl versions this weekend.
